"It's cold, it feels like Independence Day..."
So it's not the fourth anymore. I was a bit distracted that day, because Bryant flew into Columbus Monday night! He gets to stay for almost three weeks, which means he'll be the standard Disaster Kitchen visiting contributor for a while now. Tonight we--mostly he, really--made yellow curry with potatoes, carrots, pineapple, and grapes. It was very tasty, and really not even disastrous (all the above-listed ingredients being intentional).
Independence Days in the midwest are not at all like the same holiday in the northwest. They may not actually be the same holiday, come to think of it. Here they are warm and frequently humid and there are fireflies. I grew up watching the fireworks under blankets and drinking hot chocolate.
Bonus points to whomever catches the title allusion...
