Pancake

Recently, I've been making German pancakes almost every weekend. We were getting half a dozen eggs in our CSA every week until two weeks ago(!), so the ingredients were always on hand. The recipe is also ridiculously easy: throw everything into the blender, bake for 35 minutes, and you're golden.

Alton Brown's recipe (I use regular sugar + vanilla, rather than vanilla sugar; regular salt; and soymilk)

David has gotten rather tired of them, though, and even my passion is cooling, so I'll try to find a different delicious brunch staple. Any ideas?

Mmmm. Have you made pumpkin pancakes lately? With apple cider syrup?

Pumpkin pancakes--mmmmmm, perfect time of year for those. My other recommendation is Bob's Red Mill waffle mix.

Or maybe you need something entirely different. Lately Liesl and I have been doing breakfast burritos on Sunday mornings--we're really liking that tradition--and if you get sick of one recipe, you can always alter it a bit and off you go again!

Ooh, I haven't tried pumpkin pancakes recently! I should quarter that recipe and give it a go.

And breakfast burritos are a great idea, too! David loves frying potatoes, so it could be a team effort.

I love, love Dutch babies. Favorite food, hands down. But if you're looking for other brunchy recipes, now's a good season for apple pancakes.

Chelsey, I think I tried the apple pancake once, after reading about it on your blog! Would you remind me of the recipe?

Yeah...oops! I meant to hyperlink to the recipe in my previous comment but got distracted. http://chelseywaters.com/soapbox/2008/11/apple-pancake/
