Yesterday was David's birthday. He didn't let me plan a party, but he did let me put candles on the apricot cheesecake (with strawberry apricot sauce!) that I made him, and invite the neighbors and one other friend up to share it. Compromise!
Thanks, ladies! The recipe actually calls for canned apricots, which is what I used. But we do have a tree in the front yard that looks promisingly like an apricot, so hopefully fresh ones will be forthcoming.

Gah! That's what I was going to say. Now I'm drooling all over the keyboard.
We don't get much local stone fruits down here, something about the hot climate...the trees need a cold spell or something.
