Books of 2007

So someone in the blogosphere posted a list of Books Read in 2007, and I wish I could find it, because that list was far more impressive than mine will be, even though it inspired me to post my own. Anyway, for posterity, here are as many as I can remember of the books I read in 2007, including ones for school, but only those I read in their entirety or at least 75% thereof:

1. Terry Pratchett, Monstrous Regiment
2. Terry Pratchett, Going Postal
3. Roger Caillois, Man and the Sacred
4. Giorgio Agamben, Homo Sacer: Sovereign Power and Bare Life
5. Michael Camille, Image on the Edge: The Margins of Medieval Art
6. Leo Steinberg, Leonardo's Incessant Last Supper
7. Howard Hibbard, Caravaggio
8. Maria Lugones, Pilgrimages/Peregrinajes
9. Henri Hubert and Marcel Mauss, Sacrifice: Its Nature and Functions
10. Joy Kogawa, Obasan
11. Joy Kogawa, Itsuka
12. James Ramsey Ullman, Banner in the Sky
13. Virginia M. Axline, Dibs in Search of Self
14. Kurt Vonnegut, Cat's Cradle
15. Louise Erdrich, Love Medicine
16. Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
17. John Grisham, The Partner
18. George Elliot, Silas Marner
19. Charlie Gere, Digital Culture
20. Christiane Paul, Digital Art
21. Chris Meigh-Andrews, A History of Video Art: The Development of Form and Function
23. Roselee Goldberg, Performance Art: From Futurism to the Present
24. J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
25. J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
26. J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
27. J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
28. J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
29. J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
30. J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
31. Rebecca Solnit, A Field Guide to Getting Lost

In progress:
Henry James, The Wings of the Dove
Umberto Eco, The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana

I think there are more, but as I'm away from my bookshelves right now, and have Vacation Brain, this list will have to suffice. I also read a whole bunch of children's books for my summer job, and though they were wonderful, I haven't included them here.

I think that this year it would be nice to post the books I'm currently reading, and archive the ones I've finished, but I'm not sure there's an easy way to do this, and I'm a slacker. Thoughts?

This has given me the final inspiration I needed to put up a list of the movies I watched this year.

Wow, this list puts my sad reading of 2007 to shame. Just one of the reasons I'm glad that year's over.

I have a reading list in my sidebar...I put it into my template code. I don't know if it would work the same with a new blogger template, but I'd be happy to email you how I did it. (PS: I know next to nothing about html...if someone else offers, take them up on it instead.) Also, I think there's an Amazon.com widget thing that gives you the html code to paste into your template and actually puts a picture of the book cover there...I'm not sure though, and I can't remember where I saw that.
