Cured! (?)

For now, my computer screen is back to normal. I have no idea what happened; it may have had something to do with a funny little noise my computer made, but it just as easily may not. As I was composing e-mails in Gmail with the browser maximized, I didn't immediately realize it had even happened. Even though I had just been intending to take a brief break from grading papers, now I pretty much just want to sit here and stare at my pristine screen.

I still can hardly believe what a relief it is. Having it back to normal makes me realize how much I'd been squinting and stressing about its munched condition (not, sadly, that it kept me away altogether). I clearly can't continue to work on it as it was, particularly as deadlines approach for projects that require me to spend time in front of my computer for more than just blog-writing and -reading and e-mailing. If it could just make it through the end of the semester like this, in its pre-meltdown state, my life would feel so much better.

Already, it feels much better.

P.S. I just realized that the picture I posted earlier of my screen really doesn't do the effect justice at all. So I guess you'll have to just imagine why I feel so relieved!
