"But my lips hurt real bad!"

Yesterday I managed to forget my Chapstick (among other things) when I left the house, and my lips still haven't forgiven me. They may not for several more days.

Today, therefore, I double-checked to make sure I had my necessities. I figure they break down about like this, from least to most crucial:

4. Gum. Especially when one has had coffee on the way to work.
3. Water bottle. Repeated trips to the drinking fountain are inconvenient, but not impossible.
2. Lotion. Because my hands know it's winter before any other part of me, and will bleed if I don't keep them properly unctioned.
1. Chapstick. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR CHAPSTICK. I've been reduced to using lotion on occasion--but yesterday it was at home with the Chapstick. As the day wore on, I found myself fantasizing about possible substitutes. If you've been there, you know what I'm talking about.

When my lips are chapped, it looks like I'm wearing lipstick that's a shade off.

Ahhhhh... winter.

"I'm not gonna use hers you sicko!"

Hey, I just learned about something yesterday and immediately thought it might be good for you hands. There is protein lotion that climbers use for their fingers when they get cracked. It helps build calluses and keeps them moist. I'll try to figure out what it is.

I've always felt that chapstick is highly addictive. You have helped prove my theory. I'm concerned that you may need an intervention. Just say no!
